David Champagne has been familiar with the Lamina Portable Hydraulic Drilling and Tapping Units for over 30 years. David, as the Service Line Manager, is responsible for the equipment and services provided by Team Industrial Services. His roles have ranged from both hands on use of the equipment in the field to making purchasing decisions for upcoming projects. Because of all his experiences in the on-site machining industry, he has a very good knowledge of the capability and features of the Lamina Drilling and Tapping Equipment.

On high pressure reactors and heat exchangers he would commonly drill out studs about three to four inches in diameter about eight inches deep using a spade drill bit on the Lamina Drill. David states this is the quickest way to get the studs drilled out.

Among his experiences include some of the more demanding applications where a torque multiplier is used with the H15010P drill for tapping large diameter holes. In addition, he is familiar with the shunt device that connects to the Lamina Hydraulic Power Unit so that it can power a hydraulic boring bar. He also commented on how straight forward the magnet controls are for an operator. David also mentioned how easy to use the forward, reverse, increase and decrease buttons are on the pendant controls. The Lamina Hydraulic Drilling and Tapping Units have been and continue to be an extremely valuable tool to David Champagne and his co-workers at Team Industrial Services, Inc.
